Moore & Giles’ Tree Art is crafted from the world’s finest vegetable tanned leather. Tanned according to centuries-old techniques and traditions, it is completely natural and will age beautifully with wear and with age. The leather is precision cut into straps and then hand-tapered using a unique weaving process based on the ancient practice cuir bouilli, a method that employs hot water to permanently form the leather. Once woven, the leather is bonded together through a process similar to fiberglass manufacturing. After air-drying, the completed rug is backed with a 1/4 inch pad for cushioning, and finished with a non-skid backing. Each shape is unique and created according to designer specifications.
