This year, during Furniture Market, Verellen invited us to park our vintage Airstream outside of their showroom for the week. We set up our mobile showroom in Verellen’s beautiful stone driveway – where buyers, designers, and other friends in the industry could peruse and sample our leather. It was wonderful to have people connect the dots between supplier and manufacturer – a story of two like-minded companies coming together to make beautiful furniture.
During our time at Verellen, we had the privilege of participating in a “Sip + Learn”. Our very own Director of Education, Whitney Tinsley, was given the opportunity to present Leather 101, a comprehensive leather education course at the showroom. Many folks gathered, with champagne and oysters in hand, to listen to Whitney discuss how leather is made, the leather industry and Moore & Giles as a company.

The Verellen family, originally from Belgium, has been in the furniture business for decades. Every piece of furniture in family’s line is made-to-order at their manufacturing facility in High Point – a city that is known for its furniture making.

Heavily interspersed throughout Verellen’s collection you’ll find Moore & Giles leather, suede, and hair-on-hide. Verellen is drawn to Moore & Giles leather for its durability and comfort – the way our leather is upholstered onto their pieces is truly a work of art. The natural markings of the hides are highlighted and celebrated on each piece of furniture. Verellen states, “Because our furniture is handcrafted it has a heart and soul – it possesses a spirit like a living thing and embodies fully the extent of ever fiber, stitch, and staple that went into its construction. It breathes with life, transforming over time just as we ourselves do.”
